Specimen Requirements
Submit the following specimen.
Urine (Males and Females)
Container/Tube: Clean, dry container with a leakproof cap-Clean-catch specimen is not acceptable.
Specimen Volume: 5 mL to 30 mL of first-portion of voided urine
Collection Instructions: No preservative. Alternatively, urine can be transferred into the Cobas PCR Media Urine Sample Packet
Note: 1. Patient should not have urinated for at least 1 hour prior to specimen collection.
2. Label container with patient’s name (first and last), date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.
3. Transport specimen at room temperature.
