Methodology

Turbidimetric

With a result of less than 0.50 mg/L FEU, the D-Dimer assay is intended for use in conjunction with a non-high clinical pre-test probability (PTP) assessment model to exclude deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube: Light blue-top sodium citrate tube. Clotted blood is not acceptable.

Specimen Volume: Full tube of blood

Collection Instructions: Invert 6 times to mix blood

Specimen Transport Temperature

Ambient (Room temperature up to 4 hours) NOTE: test must be performed within 4 hrs of collection or will be rejected.
