Specimen Requirements
Container/Tube: Laboratory supplied collection tubes
Specimen Volume: Stool
Collection Instructions: Do not pour liquid out of the tubes. Do not overfill.
Note: 1. Pierce stool specimen 6 times with spiral applicator stick found in collection tube.
2. Return stick to tube.
3. Fecal specimen should not be collected if hematuria or obvious rectal bleeding from hemorrhoids is present.
4. Premenopausal female should avoid collecting fecal specimen during or in first 3 days after a menstrual period.
Specimen Transport Temperature
Ambient up to 6 days
Refrigerate if >6 days up to 30 days
