Container/Tube: Mint-top (lithium heparin) tube(s)
Specimen Volume: 2 mL of plasma
Collection Instructions:
Note: 1. This procedure is seldom indicated in patients <30 years of age. Monoclonal proteins are rarely identified in this age group.
2. Patient’s age is required.
3. Indicate plasma.
4. Label specimen appropriately (plasma).
Serum
Container/Tube: Serum gel tube(s)
Specimen Volume: 2 mL of serum
