Methodology

Manual

Includes bilirubin, blood, glucose, ketones, leukocytes, nitrite, pH, protein, specific gravity, urobilinogen, and microscopy.

Reflex Information:

If the leukocytes are >5 or if the leukocyte esterase is positive, then a urine culture will be performed at an additional charge.

Container/Tube: Plastic urine container

Specimen Volume: 10 mL from a clean-catch midstream urine collection

Collection Instructions: No preservative.

Specimen may be refrigerated up to 8 hours before testing.
