Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube: Plastic urine container

Specimen Volume: 10 mL from a random urine collection

Collection Instructions: No preservative.

Send fresh urine. Specimen should be less than 2 hours old.

Alternative: Put 0.5 ml of uncentrifuged urine into a cytospin cassette, and spin it down to a slide. Slide must be created within 2 hours of collection.
